Why Offshore? |
 |
|
Clients have various
reasons for wishing
to have their
servers based
offshore. In some
cases it may be
related to
jurisdiction, in
other cases to
provide centralised
resources for a
regional office
structure. |
 |
|
Whatever the reason
we are able to help,
by offering you our
no-nonsense
expertise and
proactive network
management and
support services. We
will not only make
it possible for you
to operate from
offshore locations,
we will make it a
pleasant experience.
Our bulk space and
data rates will
reduce your costs
and our choice of
secure data suites
and our own locked
cabinets will give
you peace of mind.

The Pilgrim
Approach |
 |
|
When a decision has been
made to go offshore, a
different approach to system
design is required to suit
the local circumstances.
Spares for example can
sometimes prove to be a
problem and it is important
to have local knowledge and
affiliations and to take
steps to mitigate future
difficulties. |
 |
|
Pilgrim will design and build
your new offshore systems from
the ground up. We will take into
account the location, services
and the availability of spares.
We will build in high levels of
redundancy and resilience and we
usually keep a spare server in
the rack to be sure that there
are no major delays or losses of
service in the event that spares
are needed at short notice.

|
Remote Network Management |
 |
|
We
will monitor and manage your
offshore network from our UK
network operations centre. We
will do the usual housekeeping
and maintenance required to keep
it running at peak performance
and to proactively deal with any
developing problems. Should the
need arise for 'Hands and Eyes'
in the offshore data centre, we
have arrangements in place to
quickly address any requirements
and local hardware support
services in place. |

 |
|
Outer Space |
 |
|
Outer Space is our term for
co-location provided for
clients in data centres
outside the UK. |
 |
|
Pilgrim has it's own locked
cabinets in secure suites at
carefully selected data
centres outside the UK.
|
 |
|
Data centres are chosen for
their level of physical
security |
|
 |
|
and
the effectiveness and
reliability of their links to
the internet. We always insist
on Service Level Agreements with
our data centres - something
which is often hard to achieve
in offshore locations. |
 |
|
As a
result we can provide high
bandwidth, low latency
co-location in secure offshore
locations whilst offering
reasonable prices as a result of
our bulk space and bandwidth
agreements. |
 |
|
We
will offer a full range of
network management and IT
support services for you, in
just the same way as we would if
your servers were located in
your own premises or a UK data
centre. |
